Inspired by the joy of family gatherings and late-night leftover sandwiches after big holiday meals, we set out to recreate that same magic for the people of Los Angeles. Our mission is simple: bring people together through bold, comforting food that tells a story.

As a proud reflection of our heritage—especially Rashad’s Taíno roots—we craft every sandwich with love, intention, and island soul. From our elevated take on the classic Chimi to bold originals like the Kulikitakati, each bite is a fusion of history, flavor, and creativity.

Our name, Coquí, comes from the tiny but mighty frog native to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic—a symbol deeply rooted in Taíno folklore. Though small in size, its call resonates across the islands. That same spirit lives in us.

We may be starting small, but like the coquí, we’re here to be heard. We’re here to echo the warmth, pride, and flavor of the Caribbean through the streets of LA.
